We want your experience with us to be as stress-free as possible, so we’ve created a dress code that will help you and your family be ready for your portrait session with us.
Dressing for your portrait session is an important part of the experience. Your clothes can help you get into the mood, feel comfortable, and look your best. We want you to feel like yourself in your portrait, so it’s best to wear what makes you feel good!
Here are some general guidelines:
-Dress as fully and elegantly as you can—from shoes to jewelry. Black, royal blue, navy blue, burgundy (a wine red), and shades of green are all attractive on people with any skin tone.
Accessories like colorful ties, shoes, and socks can be worn by men to bring a splash of color to their outfits. Children may wear appropriate shoes or go barefoot as needed.
-When choosing colors for clothing or accessories, keep in mind that darker colors will help hide blemishes while lighter colors will bring out your complexion (this is especially true for women). If you’re unsure about what color would look best on you, ask a friend or family member who has good taste to help you decide!
To help ensure the process is as smooth and stress-free as possible, please lay out everything for your session the night before. This will save time and stress on the day of your session.
You can also change at our studio if you’re comfortable doing so; however, please arrive about ten to fifteen minutes prior to your session so that we can get everyone set up in time. If you have more than one subject participating in your session, you may want to dress ahead of time and add the finishing touches at our studio.
We want you to feel like the best version of yourself when you’re in front of the camera, so we recommend bringing multiple clothing options with you. The artist will help you choose the best combination for your portrait.
